Update: The GPRC mixed team, skipped by Robyn Simoneau and coached by Delia DeJong were bronze medallists in the province – at the ACAC event.

Colin Griffith lost out in a semi-final.  The third very strong showing at a provincial championship, this season by a PCA rink!

The Calgary Winter Club is hosting the Men’s Master’s Provincial Championships, as we speak.  Colin Griffith and Don Dumont will represent the PCA – for the 60 + competition.

Griffith is a former Alberta Champion in this event!

2015 Senior Provincial Championships PDF Print

The Alberta Curling Federation hosted the 2015 Senior Men’s and Ladies Provincial Championships Feb 11th to the 15th.

Report: PCA representative Johnson loses provincial final, after capturing first place in the Round Robin with a 5-2 record.  Colin Griffith was 3-4.  On the ladies side Caryl Sallow was also 3-4, while Elaine Laurin finished with a 2-5 record.  Mark Johnson is the second PCA rink, along with Janais DeJong (Junior girls) to reach a provincial championship final, this season.

PCA Juvenile Championships PDF Print

The PCA hosted the 2015 Juvenile District Championships in Falher, February 6th to 8th.  Two teams in each division represent our region @ the provincial championships at the world renowned Saville Sports Centre in Edmonton - Feb 27th to March 1st.

Alberta Junior Provincial Championships PDF Print

Karsten Sturmay (boys) of Edmonton and Kelsey Rocque (girls) of Edmonton were the champions @ the Alberta Junior Curling Provincials in Grande Prairie.  These teams will represent Alberta @ the Canadian championships – in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Jan 24th to Feb 1st.  The semi-finals and finals of the Canadians will be broadcasted live on TSN!

For all Level 2 Certified Coaches who were grandfathered into the new NCCP Coaching Stream – Certified Competition Coach, January 31, 2015 is the deadline to maintain your Certified Status!

To maintain your Certified Coach Status, you must complete the On-Line MED Evaluation (Make Ethical Decisions) within five years (effective January 2010), but strongly recommend you complete as soon as possible.Coaches who fail to meet this requirement will be reassigned “In Training” status with credit for all criteria except the On-line MED.Your “Certified” status will be restored when the required On-line MED evaluation is complete.
