Alberta Curling Federation Recognition Award PDF Print

Congratulations to Dan Kleinschroth who was the recipient of the Alberta Curling Federation's Recognition Award. The Recognition award goes to individuals who have made continuous contributions to the sport of curling in Alberta. Dan has played a very large role volunteering his time in the Peace Curling Association. He has coached many curling teams and has been the Technical Director for the Peace Curling Association for many years.

Balmoral Harvest Junior Classic PDF Print

The Balmoral Harvest Junior Classic will be from September 22-24, 2017 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton. The entry fee is $300/team and 4 games are guaranteed. This is a great bonspiel to kick off the curling season. Click here for the entry form.

The Curling Canada foundation is offering scholarships for young curlers who are pursuing post secondary education in the 2017-2018 school year. "The “For The Love Of Curling” Scholarship Program is intended for young Canadian athletes who excel in curling and maintain a good level of academic standing, while demonstrating a commitment to the sport of curling through their involvement in coaching, instructing and/or volunteer activities. The purpose is to give talented junior curlers the support to pursue competitive curling as while studying at a Canadian university or college." - Curling Canada

A big thank you to the Red Willow Curling Club for hosting the Club Championships this weekend! Thank you to all of the teams and clubs that participated.
The winning teams are:
Men's A Winner - Fairview Curling Club: Dale Venning, Jerry Zachery, Dylan Venning and Dwayne Adams.
Men's B Winner - Dawson Creek Curling Club: Tracy Steinke, Mark Heartt, John Inkster and Wayne Radke.
Women's A Winner - Manning Curling Club: Treena Pasichnuk, Saylor Schmidt, Sharon Henitiuk and malarie Greschner.
Women's B Winner - Peace River Curling Club: Elaine Laurin, Tami Palinkas, Barb Elder and Annette Blayone.

The Men's and Women's teams will play in the Travelers provincials at the Avonaire Curling Club October 20-22.

Update: The dates for Mixed Districts at the Manning Curling Club will be changed from February 17-19, 2017 to February 24-26, 2017. The deadline to enter mixed districts will be Monday, February 13, 2017.

Congratulations to team Knievel, skip: Lane Knievel, third: Lyndin Stone, second: Matthew Grant, lead Chris Doll, on winning the Junior Men's PCA 'A' spot and Team Yost, skip: Kaleb Yost, third: Brady Coates, second: Max Albrecht, lead: Jaxon Hiebert, on winning the Junior Men's PCA 'B' spot last weekend at Junior Districts in Manning! Congratulations to team Skrlik, skip: Kayla Skrlik, third: Ashton Skrlik, second: Hailey Turcotte, lead: Megan Johnson, on clentching the PCA 'A' Junior Ladies spot. Both teams will be representing the PCA at Junior Provincials held at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton on January 4-8, 2017.

Technical Director and learning instructor of the PCA Dan Kleinschroth has informed that his position will be opening up after this upcoming season.

His role includes providing facilitation, instruction and evaluation for Club Coach and Competition Coach Seminars conducted in the PCA.

Dan will provide consolation for the candidate that fits the selection.
